the fennel is back!

after my baby black swallowtail butterflies stripped every bit of green from my fennel, i thought it was a goner for sure, but just as miraculously as metamorphosis, it has come back: yes!

  1. I've wondered if host plants all adapt to being eaten to a nub. Parsley in my garden returns when Black Swallowtails eat it to the ground and bolting is slowed. I've also wondered if unlimited numbers of host plants were available, just how large would the caterpillars grow before eclosing.
