it is hard to walk 100 yards without running into a farmer's market these days, no matter what day of the week it is: thank goodness! if you cant find yours though, log onto localharvest.org, plug in your zip and viola: location revealed!

capitol riverfront market

last week was the opening of yet another farmer's market in washington dc: the capitol riverfront farmer's market at new jersey avenue, se and m street, se (navy yard metro). the new farmer's market will be open every thursday 3-7 through november 18th. there will be fresh fruits, fresh vegetables, breads, baked goods, herbs, spices, pickles, olive oil, jam, honey, flowers, prepared food and more! the goal is to feature local produce and raise awareness of local speciality products.
