farmer's markets are only getting better and closer to you these days... if you happen to work or live in southwest dc, grab a beer, listen to live music and buy some fresh organic veggies at The Wharf Farmers Market, today and every other thursday through september, 5-8pm at the 7th street landing @ 7th and water streets, sw dc.

capitol riverfront market

last week was the opening of yet another farmer's market in washington dc: the capitol riverfront farmer's market at new jersey avenue, se and m street, se (navy yard metro). the new farmer's market will be open every thursday 3-7 through november 18th. there will be fresh fruits, fresh vegetables, breads, baked goods, herbs, spices, pickles, olive oil, jam, honey, flowers, prepared food and more! the goal is to feature local produce and raise awareness of local speciality products. 

Common Good City Farm

today is the opening day for
common good city farm,
a half-acre of earthly delights located @ 300 V street, nw. this fantastic
ledroit park farm grows fresh organic
produce for low income residents, as well as conducts edible gardening
workshops for everyone.
celebrate the greening of d.c. with live music, tastings and an easter egg
toss (wasn't that last weekend?).
anywho...the farm starts today, and
will be open monday
and thursdays 3-7 and wednesdays
and saturdays 10-1.
today's festivities run from 11:30-1:30.
