worst planter ever

why? why would someone do this to these lovely succulents? these victorian-headed planters are nothing but ugly and tacky and will enhance zero people's decors: yuch. hideous...go get a chia pet instead.

i love these upside down planters designed by fellow etsian mudpuppy specifically for tillandsia. very simple. very modern. i bet they would look just as great with bromeliads or orchids!

i went thrifting last weekend and found these fantastic vintage planters from mccoy and redwing.

it's concrete, in a nutshell

kornegay designs out of phoenix has some cool, modern concrete planters: i like this nutshell textured one. a few of their designs might only look good at mcmansions, but others are fairly classic in inspiration.
whatever: they wont blow away, ever!

modern inversion planter

i love the concept of those upside planters for tomatoes, peppers, herbs, et cetera: they require 80% less water; push nutrients right down into the plants; and allow for earlier plantings; but frankly, they are really a design disaster and i cant get over their looks! but here comes the sky planter: sleek, modern and right up my garden path!

i was introduced to the amazing terrariums of paula hayes in last week's blogisphere posting on etsy. she is an amazing environmental sculptor who also makes aquariums, planters, living jewelry, bird stuff and landscapes that evoke envy. her website is really cool too.
