strawberry festival

well, it isn't exactly a festival, but the one strawberry pot has produced quite a few non-stink-bug-eaten berries this year, creating somewhat of a party- a festival of sorts-in my mouth.

first strawberries

I picked -and subsequently ate- my first home grown strawberries of the season! yeah, I know: there are only four, but they were delicious! looking forward to more...

strawberry pot

garden,gardening,container gardening,strawberry,strawberries,fruit
the mister snagged these huge concrete pots from a demo site he was working on right before the backhoe dumped them into the trash: nice job! with my huge oak gone (r.i.p.), the berries are flourishing and taste delicious. i just hope i can pick a few before the birds eat them all: cant believe i cant find my critter cover! i must add a note to my master gardener app: clean the shed.

my container gardens

i have a few things growing in containers and raised beds. i put 'top hat' blueberries in 12" pots below crook neck yellow squash sitting on the deck of my shed. these huge pots reclaimed from a construction site hold 30 strawberry plants each: some grub-type-thing is eating the berries. i have a bunch of heirloom tomatoes in my raised beds that i started from seed: they look good! my carrots, i dont know...i am not very good with carrots.
