we are busy setting records here in dc...damn, it's hot!

cherry blossom festival 2011

despite the chilly temperatures and gusty winds, the cherry blossoms at the tidal basin are hanging in there: peak bloom time is right now through sunday! if you havent seen this annual spectacle, you are missing out! driving there and parking is difficult at best; metro + walking is what i would recommend...there are tons of activities and events both saturday and sunday all around town, so go and enjoy the pretty pink blossoms!

is purple rain next?

some people saw snow yesterday...if it didnt sound so completely toxic, i would love snow to be purple: that would at least make it less offensive (to me), and maybe a little more fun for everyone the next time we get 45", which i hope is never. 

blizzard 2010

we are still so buried here! and 18 more inches of snow are forecast for tomorrow: ugh! my garden arbor over the gate is actually twisted from the weight of the snow: need to knock that stuff off tomorrow morning. no worries, though: the mister went to safeway, giant , whole foods and finally costco to ensure we had it all, considering the impending doom. I carry on in the studio, as usual.
