earth day blasts on

today is earth day and the navy introduced  a partially bio-fueled version of it's gas hog f/a-18 super hornet called the green hornet. the twin engine jet made its test flight from pax river naval air station filled with 50% bio fuel derived from the crushed seeds of Camelina sativa. the hornet cruised the bay and tried to break the sound barrier.
it could see my house from up there!

  1. Well, I must say, I'm impressed. Goodness knows jets eat fuel faster than a three-year-old sucks down a Pop-Tart! I've never heard of this Brassica, but in my defense, I don't think it grows here. I hope the Green Hornet experiment went well enough that other military vehicles will convert too! Happy Earth Day!
